Nakheel Tower (previously called Al Burj) developed by Nakheel, was a proposed skyscraper in Dubai (UAE). Project was put on hold in January 2009 due to financial problems. Nakheel Group’s financial problems increased and the tower was cancelled in December 2009. Nakheel was in talks with several potential contractors and the proposed tower would have been 1400m.

The original design was to have 631000 square meters of floorspace comprising luxury apartments, health club and an observation deck.  The latest released design had named the development Nakheel Harbour and Tower, it would be a single tower over 1000 meters tall, have been made up of four towers with four individual cores forming an approximate 100 meters in diameter. The towers would be joined by four-level, full diameter sky bridges at approximately ever twenty-five floors. The design included a distinctive crescent-shaped podium encircling the base of the tower. The tower would have been serviced by 156 lifts at sufficient speeds to allow for travel from ground floor to the observation deck in four minutes.
